چکیده
The biochemical implication of chloramphenicol-induced lymphoma and the ameliorative potential Justicia carnea Cnidoscolus aconitifolius on male Wistar rats were evaluated in this study. Seventy (70) with average body weights 128g randomly grouped into 14 5 each. Group 1 received commercial rat feed water ad libitum. Rats groups 2-14 given 250mg/kg bodyweight chloramphenicol by oral intubation for 28 days. Results blood samples collected after days from all showed normal film abnormal increases lymphocytes presence blast cells Groups 2-14. 2 did not receive any treatment is referred to as negative control. remaining (3-14) administered aqueous leaf extracts J. (Groups 3-6), C. 7-10), a combination both 11-14) doses 500mg/kg, 1000mg/kg, 1500mg/kg 2000mg/kg respectively, Data obtained that elevated (p<0.05) lymphocytosis there was indicating when compared 1. able ameliorate better than single therapy each extract. result investigation supports earlier findings could cause acute lymphocytic leukemia. It further provides evidence combined may have an effect diseases connected over-exposure chloramphenicol.

AIMS The present work studied the modulatory role of methanolic extract of Cnidoscolus aconitifolius leaf (MECA) in rat model of renal dysfunction induced by chronic ethanol administration. METHODS Forty-two male Wistar albino rats weighing between 170 and 180 g were distributed into seven groups of six animals each. Some groups were pretreated with MECA (100 and 200 mg/kg) or kolaviron (KV) ...
